Rubin's self portraits

Throughout his life Rubin repeatedly resorted to depicting his own self-portrait (whether it was in Roumania, Paris, Tel Aviv, New York or Caesarea) in various techniques: drawing, woodcuts, sculpture, oil paintings and watercolors. Self-portraits constitute the artist's dialogue with himself, implying self-scrutiny and the evolvement of his artistic identity, a starting point to observe the surrounding world and to express his views and commentary.
