Menashe Kadishman: Dogs and Other Animals

22.12.25 - 21.3.26

Curators: Carmela Rubin, Edna Erde

After being closed for six months, the Rubin Museum is reopening with a special exhibition in memory of the artist Menashe Kadishman (1932–2015), marking ten years since his passing.

At the heart of the exhibition is a series of oil pastel ("panda") drawings from the late 1980s featuring dogs.

These works showcase Kadishman’s free, masterful line, his incredibly vibrant colours, and the way he liked to repeat his images in a series. There’s also a group of spontaneous, lively sketches that lean toward caricature, focusing again on animals.
